Emily Ratajkowski calls out magazine for making her lips and breasts look smaller

Emily Ratajkowski shared a powerful message about celebrating individuality on Instagram.

The 26-year-old supermodel posted a sultry image of herself in a black beret and black open-front coat. The photo was shot for French magazine Madame Figaro but according to Ratajkowski, the magazine Photoshopped her lips and breasts to appear smaller. She accompanied the image with an unretouched version of the cover photo.

“Everyone is uniquely beautiful in their own ways. We all have insecurities about the things that make us different from a typical ideal of beauty. I, like so many of us, try every day to work past those insecurities,” Ratajkowski wrote. “I was extremely disappointed to see my lips and breasts altered in photoshop on this cover.”

Personally, we can’t understand why any magazine would mess with the perfection that is EmRata but what she said next has us saying AMEN.

“I hope the fashion industry will finally learn to stop trying to stifle the things that make us unique and instead begin to celebrate individuality,” she writes.

Ratajkowski isn’t the only celebrity to speak out against Photoshop.

Kerry Washington, Iskra Lawrence, and Zendaya have been vocal on publications using Photoshop and how it creates “unrealistic ideals of beauty.”

Perhaps Madame Figaro can take a leaf out of Asos’ book — their summer swimwear campaign featured a diverse group of models and left stretchmarks untouched.
