Emma Stone, Bradley Cooper and More Stars Who Earned Multiple Oscar Nominations This Year
The 96th Academy Awards ceremony will be held Sunday, March 10
Several stars double-dipped at the 2024 Oscars.
The nominations for the 96th annual Academy Awards were announced Tuesday, with Oppenheimer in the lead with 13 total nods.
Emma Stone received a Best Actress nomination for her performance in Poor Things, plus she qualified as one of the nominated producers under the film's Best Picture nod. Stone, 35 and a previous Oscar winner, is now the second woman to be nominated for acting and Best Picture for the same film, after Frances McDormand for Nomadland, which won both spots in 2021.
Additionally, Poor Things director Yorgos Lanthimos is nominated for Best Director and under its Best Picture nomination.
Bradley Cooper received three nominations this year: Best Actor, Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay, for starring, producing and co-writing Maestro.
Cooper, 49, is now the fourth person to direct himself to an acting nomination on more than one film, according to the Academy. (He directed Maestro and 2018's A Star Is Born.) Those other three actor-directors are Laurence Olivier (for Henry V, Hamlet and Richard III), Warren Beatty (for Heaven Can Wait and Reds) and Clint Eastwood (for Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby).
