Eva Longoria Questions Why She Was ‘So Hung Up’ on Showing Off Her Abs with Her 2000s Red Carpet Looks
The ‘Desperate Housewives’ alum loved a good crop top, that’s for sure
Eva Longoria has come a long way with her red carpet style.
In an Instagram post shared on Thursday, the Flamin’ Hot director, 48, looked back on her past outfits that exclusively featured crop tops.
“Why was I hung up on showing my stomach on red carpets??!” she captioned three early-2000s photos of her clad in midriff-baring tops.
Back in the day, Longoria wore her favorite look many ways (no outfit-repeating behavior here).

One of the images Longoria shared was of her at the 2001 Lara Croft: Tomb Raider Los Angeles premiere, where she wore a ‘70s-style leather-on-leather set with patchwork jeans and nothing but a jacket and feathered necklace on top.
In the other two, Longoria is pictured in a beige knit micro top and skirt at the Armani Exchange 10th Anniversary party and outfitted in a neon orange bandeau and jeans at an ABC Disney event.
Some celebrities took a stab at why Longoria had some many cutoff shirts in her rotation, including Sophia Bush, who guessed, “Because ABS,” and Julianne Hough who owed it to Longoria iconic-ness.

One can guess that Longoria’s tiny-top days are over based on her recent looks, which have included lots of pantsuits and bold gowns. But she’s still got that sexy style down pat.

Sheer dresses and curve-hugging numbers are staples in her red carpet wardrobe, as well as chic sultry hairstyles, like the glossy shag she wore earlier this month.
“It's a wig,” the actress told PEOPLE at the La Cena Los Angeles event where she debuted her ‘do. “It's not even my hair, but isn't it great?”
“Let me tell you, it's award season — people are stepping it up.”
