Eva Mendes Shares What It's “Really” Like at Milan Fashion Week in Relatable BTS Video: 'Hot & Hungry'
The actress attended her first show since welcoming daughters Esmeralda Amada and Amada Lee with Ryan Gosling
Eva Mendes wants you to know that all that Fashion Week glam takes work.
The actress and entrepreneur, 49, just attended her first Milan Fashion Week since becoming a mom to daughters, Esmeralda Amada, 9, and Amada Lee, 7, who she shares with Ryan Gosling.
While she certainly made an entrance at the Dolce & Gabbana show on Feb. 25 decked out in cheetah-print, bling and a voluminous beehive updo topped with a veil, not all was glam behind the scenes.
In a video shared to Instagram on Wednesday, Mendes showed the realities of what it takes to survive the bustle of Fashion Week. Her hot tip: bring a snack!

Mendes packed a banana with her for some fuel after the show. In the clip, she holds it up as a phone, pretending her man is on the line.
Then, the video cuts to her in a car, stripping off her gloves and pushing down her knee-high boots before getting ready to snack— except that her veil makes it difficult to actually eat it. She eventually gets the hang of it, but the clip is a friendly reminder that sometimes function over fashion is the way to go.
“The gloves come off! The real [sic]: so hot & hungry after the stunning @dolcegabbana show,” Mendes captioned the post.
On social media, Mendes shared how much fun she had flying to Milan in the name of fashion and dressing up like her inspirations Sophia Loren and Ken (yes, that’s right, Gosling’s Barbie character made it onto Mendes’ mood board). “Time flies when you’re mommying,” she wrote alongside another post.

Motherhood has shifted Mendes’ perspective on a few things, including Valentine's Day. On the holiday, Mendes admitted that she used to be a “rebel” who rejected the most romantic day of the year until she welcomed her kids.
"But now I like it. I’m a mom now and I’m all like soft and stuff,” she said on Instagram. "Yup, I’m a softie now that I’m a Mami of two little girls! Lotsa love out there today and always,” she wrote.
