Every Marvel Studios Film and Disney+ Series Announced Through 2027
Leave it to Robert Downey Jr. to save the Marvel Cinematic Universe once again. The superhero franchise's future remained in doubt until the fan-favorite actor made his return at San Diego Comic-Con to rapturous excitement. As audiences picked their jaws up from the ground, Downey Jr. revealed that he will play the MCU's next big villain: Doctor Doom.
Marvel has plenty of time to figure out how the casting will work plot-wise. But for now, it finally feels like the MCU has momentum again. The announcement followed a box-office boom for Deadpool & Wolverine, which also saw many former Marvel heroes make their return to the big screen. The multiverse—which may have doomed Marvel post Avengers: Endgame—is now the franchise's greatest savior.
Though fans should expect many more revelations in the coming months, there's still plenty to look forward to in the MCU. Marvel head Kevin Feige teased the upcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps starring Pedro Pascal, as well as an impressive lineup of villains for Thunderbolts*. Beyond those two films, Marvel is preparing Captain America: Brave New World, Daredevil: Born Again, and two new Avengers films: Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
For a glimpse of the future, below is every upcoming project Marvel has announced under its current slate.
Agatha All Along
On Disney+: September 18, 2024
Kathryn Hahn's fan-favorite performance as the WandaVision witch Agatha Harkness helped score her own dark comedy series, Agatha All Along. The upcoming supernatural comedy also stars Aubrey Plaza as a warrior witch, Patti LuPone as a master of divination, Sasheer Zamata as a sorcerer, and Heartstopper's Joe Locke as Agatha's familiar.
WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer serves as the show's executive producer, picking up from where we last left Agatha—trapped in her suburban sitcom persona.

Captain America: Brave New World
In theaters: February 14, 2025
Anthony Mackie will star in the sequel to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series that finally gave Sam Wilson the title of Captain America.
Falcon and the Winter Soldier left many plot threads still to be unraveled, such as Sharon Carter's role as the criminal Power Broker and Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) rounding up troubled super-power beings such as John Walker (Wyatt Russell).
Samuel Sterns—whose transformation into The Leader back in 2008's The Incredible Hulk was never explored, will also star in this film— as well as Harrison Ford as the President of the United States. (And the Red Hulk!)

Daredevil: Born Again
On Disney+: March 2025
Following his cameos in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk, Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil (Charlie Cox), will reportedly see an 18-episode limited series on Disney+ thanks to fan demand. Production delays and staffing shakeups have pushed the series into 2025, but Born Again remains in Marvel's release plans.
The blind, crime-fighting lawyer's first three seasons premiered on Netflix back when heroes such as Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and The Punisher, lived on the streaming competitor. Daredevil's main foe, Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio), also made an appearance in the Hawkeye miniseries and Echo.

Thunderbolts*
In theaters: May 2, 2025
Starring a ragtag group of MCU villains and antiheroes such as the Winter Soldier, Florence Pugh's Black Widow, U.S. Agent, Ghost, Taskmaster, and David Harbour's Red Guardian, Thunderbolts will showcase a Suicide Squad-esque lineup for the MCU—all assembled by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus).
Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige also revealed to Screen Rant that the asterisks is officially part of the film's title and will be explained after the film's release. "That is the official title of Thunderbolts and we won’t talk more about that until after the movie comes out," he said.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps
In theaters: July 25, 2025
The Fantastic Four, Marvel's first family, has had a rough ride with critics over the years. Mr. Fantastic, Human Torch, Invisible Woman, and The Thing have already graced our screens three times now, but all three films have been commercial and critical failures.
Now, Marvel announced that Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) will star as the next Reed Richards, alongside Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible) as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) as Ben Grimm. Backed by the Fox acquisition, Marvel will try once again to wow us with this superhero family.
Blade
In theaters: November 7, 2025
Hype is huge for the return of Blade the vampire hunter, played by Mahershala Ali. Made famous in a trilogy of movies featuring Wesley Snipes pre-MCU, the half-vampire, full-time killer helped pave the way for the superhero film resurgence in the late 2000s.
Blade already made an audio-only cameo in the end credits scene of Eternals when he spoke to Dane Whitman (Kit Harington), who will become the Black Knight, but it's unknown just how either character will fit into the next phase of the MCU. Currently, production on the new film remains delayed.
Ironheart
On Disney+: TBA 2025
After her introduction in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, RiRi Williams (Dominique Thorne) will get a solo series that explores her character more fully as well as issues in the new generation of Iron Man technology.
Dubbing herself "Ironheart," RiRi creates a high-powered suit to rival the great Tony Stark's before she's suddenly thrust into a criminal world that will do anything to claim it. She'll be joined by Anthony Ramos (Twisters) as The Hood, Alden Ehrenreich (Oppenheimer) as Joe McGillicuddy, and Shea Couleé (RuPaul's Drag Race) as Slug.
Avengers: Doomsday
In theaters: May 1, 2026
Robert Downey Jr. shocked the socks off San Diego Comic-Con attendees when he announced his return to the MCU as the villainous Doctor Doom. "New mask, same task," he stated. It's inarguably the biggest reveal for Disney since the peak of Avengers: Endgame—and the solution moving forward after Kang actor Jonathan Majors was dismissed.
But how will Marvel explain that Doom looks exactly like Tony Stark? Well, they'll have plenty of time to work that out. This next Avengers outing isn't planned until 2026.
Avengers: Secret Wars
In theaters: May 7, 2027
Information about this next Avengers flick has been pretty secret—hence the title—but Secret Wars has been set for a release date one year after Doomsday. If the plot follows the comics in any way, the Avengers should be putting the multiverse drama to rest when the cataclysmic Secret Wars hits theaters in the Summer of 2027.
X-Men '97: Season 2
On Disney+: TBA
While Marvel chief creative officer Kevin Feige figures out how to best incorporate the X-Men into the MCU, Disney's first plan is to continue re-vamping the Saturday morning X-Men cartoon that ran for five seasons from 1992 to 1997.
Vision Quest
On Disney+ TBA
At the end of WandaVision, a resurrected, weird, and white Vision reentered the MCU. Where is he now? What does he want? Well, that will all be explored in the future Vision Quest series. WandaVision's Jac Schaeffer will return as head writer, with Paul Bettany also set to reprise his role as Vision.
Untitled World of Wakanda Series
On Disney+: TBA
Black Panther director Ryan Coogler revealed back in May 2021 that he was working on a live-action drama series set in the Kingdom of Wakanda with Okoye (Danai Gurira) set to have a starring role.
Not much else is known about the project, or if the story will expand on events in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. According to Variety, the yet-to-be revealed series may also be one of TWO projects that Coogler will helm for Disney+.
Eyes of Wakanda Animated Series
On Disney+: TBA
Like we mentioned above, Black Panther visionary Ryan Coogler needed time off after the Wakanda Forever press cycle to properly grieve the loss of late actor Chadwick Boseman. Even still, Variety has announced that he is currently working on two spinoff series for Disney+, including a live-action and an animated story set around the world of Wakanda.
Armor Wars
In theaters: TBA
If Armor Wars follows its storyline from the comics, James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) will have to step in for the late Tony Stark to deal with Iron Man technology falling into the wrong hands.
The limited series is being re-written into a movie by Yassir Lester (Black Monday) and will also feature black-market dealer Sonny Burch (Walter Goggins), who made his debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
On Disney+: TBA
Marvel's next animated Spider-Man cartoon will premiere on Disney+ helmed by Jeff Trammel (Cartoon Network’s Craig of the Creek). The series may fill in the gaps between Peter Parker's origins after getting bitten by a radioactive spider and his live-action appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Marvel Zombies
On Disney+: TBA
Featured in an episode of What If...?, the MCU reimagined as a world full of zombies will reportedly get its own miniseries based on the comic by everyone's favorite zombie aficionado, The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman.
Zeb Wells (Robot Chicken) will also serve as head writer and executive producer.

Wonder Man
On Disney+: TBA
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will star as the titular Wonder Man for a future Disney+ series, helmed by Shang-Chi's Destin Daniel Cretton and Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Andrew Guest. The series will also star Ben Kingsley as the former Mandarin, Demetrius Grosse as the Grim Reaper, and Ed Harris as Wonder Man's agent.
It remains unknown what version of Wonder Man we'll see, as the character has a long and complicated past that is wrapped up in Vision's already-retconned origins.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings 2
In theaters: TBA
There's little info about the Shang-Chi sequel, outside of direct connfirmation from star Simu Liu that the plans are in motion. After a fan wrote on Threads that Marvel had seemingly abandoned plans for a sequel, Liu commented, "I promise it’s happening."

Nova
In theaters: TBA
Way back in Infinity War, Thanos decimated the home of the Nova Corps in search of the infinity stones, presumably killing everyone on the planet last seen in Guardians of the Galaxy.
