She's the "girl of his dreams" and he's her Ken.

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have been together since filming The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011, and though once in a while they voice support for one another publicly, they're not often photographed together — by design.

In a 2020 Instagram exchange, Mendes said she'd "rather be home with my man than anywhere else in the world." (We don't blame her!)

"We did not meet on set. The magic started way before," she wrote in a 2023 Instagram post.

The couple moved on to promote the film at its New York City premiere in 2013.

When a fan asked Mendes if she'd be joining Gosling on the Barbie press tour in 2023, she said they "don't do those things together. Like these photos I've been posting, Im only comfortable posting because it's already out there."

In a separate comment, Mendes pointed out that she and Gosling "only were on the red carpet together once when promoting" their movie.

In the movie, the pair played parents to a young son. And in 2023, Gosling told GQ that the experience helped him discover what he wanted in life.

"I wasn’t thinking about kids before I met her, but after I met Eva, I realized that I just didn’t want to have kids without her," he shared.

"And there were moments on The Place Beyond the Pines where we were pretending to be a family, and I didn’t really want it to be pretend anymore," he continued. "I realized that this would be a life I would be really lucky to have.”

Accepting the Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film at the Santa Barbara Film Festival in early 2024, Gosling said that through his work, "I got to meet the girl of my dreams, Eva Mendes, and have two dream children. I dreamed of one day making movies, and now, movies have made my life a dream."

'Nothing Else'

In a 2015 chat with Hello!, Gosling said, "I know that I'm with the person I'm supposed to be with," adding of what he looks for in a woman: "That she's Eva Mendes. There's nothing else I'm looking for."
