‘Expect major delays’ on I-10 in area of construction projects, MDOT says. What to know

A backup on Interstate 10 between Diamondhead and Menge Avenue slowed traffic in the eastbound lanes Thursday morning in an area with several construction projects.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation warned drivers to “expect major delays.” The traffic could last up to two hours, the agency said.

The traffic is in an area of the interstate with several construction projects that MDOT has said could slow drivers.

Crews are widening exit ramps into Diamondhead, adding lanes to the interstate between Diamondhead and County Farm Road near Long Beach and working on a bridge overpass near the site of the future Buc-ee’s travel center at Menge Avenue.

MDOT warned drivers to be cautious in the area.
