At about 7:30 p.m. CST on Thursday, Regina police arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with a home invasion on Muskowekwan First Nation on Jan.17, 2016.

The suspect was scheduled to appear in Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Regina on Friday.

About 60 charges have now been laid in connection to the break-in.

8 people at home during break-in

According to the RCMP, at 9:45 p.m. on Jan. 17, officers received a call from a home on the Muskowekwan First Nation, where six adults and two children were in the midst of a frightening home invasion.

Wearing disguises, seven people had allegedly forcibly entered the home carrying steel bars, baseball bats and a firearm.

RCMP said two men in the house were attacked with the weapons. They were brought to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. There was also significant damage to the home and two vehicles outside.

Through investigations, RCMP identified seven suspects whose charges included aggravated assault, wearing a disguise, use of a firearm and breaking and entering.

Some of those suspects were still at large when the charges were laid but Punnichy RCMP said the 31-year-old would be the last person charged in connection with the incident.

Wynyard is about 175 kilometres northeast of Regina.
