Fire destroys building on SLO County winery property overnight

A fire burned down a building at J. Lohr Vineyards & Winery in Paso Robles on Thursday night, according to Cal Fire spokesperson Toni Davis.

Fire crews responded to a call about a structure fire on the winery property at 6:31 p.m., according to a Davis. The fire was contained to the single building and was knocked down at 7:50 p.m.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation and there were no reported injuries, Davis said.

Davis added the building was being used to house heavy equipment.

Cal Fire crews were assisted by crews from Paso Robles, Templeton, Cal Fire Monterey County, Atascadero and San Luis Obispo County Public Health.

J. Lohr representatives did not respond to a request for comment as of Friday morning.
