Gatineau Park heritage home destroyed in fire
A Gatineau Park heritage home owned by the National Capital Commission was destroyed in a fire late Thursday night.
No one was inside the home at 144 Cross Loop in Chelsea., Que. when fire crews were called just after 11:30 p.m., MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais police said in a news release.
The home, originally built in 1878, was damaged in a fire in 1912 but rebuilt on the same foundation in 1940, police said.
The property was valued at $260,000, police said.
Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause.
