“General Hospital”'s Eden McCoy Returns to the Series After Her Mom's Death
Courtney Fulk has been standing in as Josslyn Jacks during Eden McCoy's six-week absence
Eden McCoy is heading back to General Hospital.
The actress, who plays Josslyn Jacks, will be back on screen Thursday, Feb. 1, according to TVLine. McCoy, 20, temporarily stepped away from the role in mid-December in the aftermath of her mother's death from cancer.
In her absence, Courtney Fulk has picked up the role of Jacks.
In November, McCoy announced her mother had died from the illness. “My mother has fought an intense battle with cancer for the past 2 and a half years and has now left us physically. I’m not sure what to say other than she was, is, and will be the best thing I have ever known,” McCoy wrote in an emotional Instagram tribute.

“Losing my mother has always been my greatest fear, as I’m sure many of you feel the same, and we have this habit as people of thinking that it will never happen to us,” she continued. “Unfortunately it can, and sometimes it does. I would do anything and give everything for one more minute with her. But not only was I lucky enough to know my mother, we could not have been closer.”
At the time of her leave, neither McCoy nor General Hospital revealed a reason for McCoy’s sabbatical.
In a since-deleted holiday post on X (previously Twitter), she told her fans, “I think I’m gonna take some time off of Twitter, but first needed to give thanks for any of the support within the last few weeks. Been a strange year, but I still feel very lucky. Wishing everyone reading this love and health.”

In December, McCoy won the Daytime Emmy award for outstanding younger performer in a drama series and shared an Instagram post to commemorate the moment.
“Words can’t describe the gratitude I feel…I just want to say thank you for the best 8 years to my General Hospital family….thank you for letting me be a tiny FRACTION of your incredible legacy . For you mommy!!!” she captioned a photo of herself holding the award.
