‘The Golden Bachelor’ Wedding Courts 36% Audience Growth In 7-Day Viewing

Can you hear the wedding bells? It sounds like they’re still ringing.

The Golden Wedding has grown its audience 36% in the seven days since it aired on ABC on January 4, tallying 7.13M viewers across linear and streaming, according to Nielsen data. As Deadline previously reported, Gerry Turner’s nuptials to Theresa Nist managed about 5.2M live + same-day viewers.

The episode also grew its rating in the 18-49 demographic by 105%, ballooning from a 0.63 to a 1.29.

Since ABC has not had a televised Bachelor wedding in several years, it’s difficult to compare this performance to the rest of the franchise — especially given the ratings success of The Golden Bachelor, which outperformed all the other iterations nearly every week.

Compared to the finale of The Golden Bachelor, it appears the wedding may have underperformed just slightly. ABC reported that 6.95M people had tuned in for the finale episode after three days of viewing. So, it’s probably safe to say the episode surpassed 7.15M after another four days. The network did not release seven-day data.

In terms of same-day viewing, The Golden Wedding surpassed the season’s average audience by 8%, up nearly a million viewers from the finale.

The Golden Bachelor is produced by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon.
