After five seasons, the residents of Freeform's Good Trouble spent their final night at the Coterie.

But, as any fan knows, this wasn't just the end of five seasons; it was the end of more than 10 years with Callie and Mariana Adams Foster (Maia Mitchell and Cierra Ramirez), as the pair led the spinoff of The Fosters, which first premiered in June 2013.

When Good Trouble's cancellation was announced, the filming on the season had concluded, but the network allowed them to return to set and film a few additional scenes so everything could be wrapped up with a bow in a 90-minute series finale.

And, no, that bow wasn't adhered to the back of a wedding dress for Callie. Her nuptials to Jamie (Beau Mirchoff) will have to live on in fans' imaginations. At least their joy was shared earlier in the season with the return of moms Lena and Stef (Sherri Saum and Teri Polo) and their brothers Jude (Hayden Byerly) and Brandon (David Lambert) for a touching engagement party featured earlier in the season.

Here is what did happen in the series finale — and where the beloved characters are headed.

Alice (Sherry Cola) received a phone call that the landlord was selling the building, and the residents had three months to move out. And, three months later, the residents gathered for one last family dinner.

After getting her women's shelter back in play, Malika (Zuri Adele) announced she was running for city council herself. Three months later, the campaign was going well, and her girlfriend, Angelica (Yasmine Aker) was quick to share that she was gaining in the polls.

Alice was offered a series regular role on a sitcom when she submitted a reel to be considered to host America's Funniest Ferrets & Friends — but she turned it down to protect her colleagues. And it all worked out: The sitcom was swiftly canceled, and now Alice is hosting AFF&F.

As for her and Sumi (Kara Wang), they've bought a house together and invited everyone to convene there in the future.

Gael (Tommy Martinez) turned down the opportunity to apprentice with a well-respected artist and decided to focus more on his street art. He'd just won a contract to create a mural in downtown L.A. "We've always believed in you," Davia said. Callie added, "It's nice to see you believing in yourself."

Earlier in the episode, playwright Ethan (Miguel Pinzon) remembered that Davia (Emma Hunton) was his muse and begged her to come back for the staged reading of his musical under the guise that Serena was sick. And then he told her why she was really there — because she's a star, dammit! — and she crushed the performance!

So much so, that the show is heading to New York, and Davia along with it. Callie promised that she and Jamie would visit from Washington, D.C. to see it.

Davia and Dennis (Josh Pence) agree to stay together and work things out long-distance — he can't up and move his new restaurant to Brooklyn, after all — even if they're apart for two years, "a long time," according to Davia. But "not in the scheme of our whole lives together," Dennis told her.

Speaking of the restaurant, Luca (Booboo Stewart) resolved his immigration situation and his love triangle — he chose Ladle (Tetona Jackson) — and his dance career is taking off. He's heading on tour with Olivia Rodrigo!

Mariana and Joaquin (Bryan Craig) finally finished up all the drama with Silas when they got a call from Jenna (Maiara Walsh) that the cult leader was about to dig up Madison's body and move it. The two gumshoes went to film it and got caught. Joaquin and Silas fought, Mariana broke it up by driving into Silas, then Silas nearly killed them both with a shovel but Jenna turned up and shot Silas.

Silas didn't die, Jenna's in rehab, and Joaquin's been publishing articles about cults that are getting the attention of some magazines. And he's single.

Mariana and Evan (T.J. Linnard) finally had that chat, and Evan revealed that all his memories had returned. "Mariana, I love you," he told her. Moments later, he's shown arriving at dinner and sitting next to her.

Naturally, the final moments showed the cast dancing to LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" and having one final drink around the rooftop pool, "a toast to the best of times past and the best of times to come," according to Dennis.

Slowly, each character said goodnight until it was just a teary-eyed Callie and Mariana left. After a quick montage showing the characters together from the very beginning of The Fosters to the present, Mariana said, "It's been quite the journey."

"It certainly has. And there’s no one that I would’ve rather done it with," Callie said. Reaching for Mariana's hand to walk away and into their future, she added, "Ready?"

Good Trouble is available to stream on Hulu.
