Guilbeault ‘confident’ that ‘ambitious’ plastic pollution treaty will be achieved by end of year

As Ottawa kicked off negotiations toward a global plastic waste treaty on Tuesday, Minister of Environment Steven Guilbeault responded to a reporter’s question and said that he did not think a plastic treaty without any kind of plastic production limitation was acceptable. “We have countries from all over the world and I'm confident that not only will we have a treaty by the end of the year, but we will have an ambitious treaty,” Guilbeault said.
