Harley-Davidson rider killed in crash near southwest Fresno. He was 58, CHP reports

The rider of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was killed Saturday evening in a solo-vehicle crash on Kearney Boulevard southwest of Fresno, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The fatal incident happened about 6:50 p.m. as the 58-year-old rider was eastbound on Kearney, just east of Valentine Avenue, according to investigators. He drifted off the right side of the road and slammed into a palm tree.

The rider was thrown from the bike. He was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center with critical injuries and died at the hospital. An investigation will determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
