Harris County’s teacher and support person of the year to be chosen from these nominees
The Teacher of the Year and the Support Person of the Year in the Harris County School District will be chosen from these nominees:
Emilee Braddy (teacher) and Anna Balestracci (support) of Harris County High School
Jalin Murphy (teacher) and Victoria Gillum (support) of Harris County Carver Middle School
Jeannie Bulloch (teacher) and Susann Murphy (support) of Creekside Intermediate School
Lindsay Lewis (teacher) and Jackie Pierce (support) of Mulberry Creek Elementary School
Morgan Allen (teacher) and Cortni Madrigal (support) of New Mountain Hill Elementary School
Meghan Hagan (teacher) and Kay McGuire (support) of Park Elementary School
Celeste Garrett (teacher) and Misti Jones (support) of Pine Ridge Elementary School
Andrea Small-Jules (teacher) of the Educational Opportunity Center
Deb Slayton (support) of the HCSD central office.
The nominees from each school are decided by a vote of their peers, HCSD spokeswoman Rachel Crumbley told the Ledger-Enquirer. A committee decides the district-level winners, who will be announced at a football game to be determined, she said.
“The teacher and support personnel of the year are exceptional professionals who consistently exceed expectations in serving the needs of our students and schools every day,” Stacey Carlisle, HCSD assistant superintendent for human resources, said in a news release.
