Winnipeggers knew it was coming.

Even a week before it arrived, the long-range forecast said temperatures were dropping the snow was on the way. How could it not be — it's mid-November. There's only five more shopping weekends until Christmas.

But who could think beyond the food trucks and cafe patios as November kept disguising itself as September?

Heck, put your snow shovels aside and think of this for a second — just four short days ago a handful of communities set new record warm temperatures.

Winnipeg, which got up to 13.1 C was was just shy of the 76-year-old record of 15.6 C, set in 1939.

On Thursday, Winnipeggers scraped off their windshields and faced a day that felt like –15.

It's a sudden adjustment, but one we'll get used to. We do it every year.
