High schools: Ryan Maddox leads Bee softball No. 1 Clovis North into showdown week

The Tri-River Athletic Conference will be in full swing this week.

In softball, The Fresno Bee’s No. 1 Clovis North will look to remain undefeated when the Broncos face No. 2 Clovis and No. 3 Central in TRAC action.

Clovis North star Ryan Maddox has over 100 career hits and a 55-4 pitching record, according to Central Section historian Bob Barnett.

The Broncos are 17-0-1.

In the County/Metro Athletic Conference, No. 8 Sanger and No. 16 Madera are 2-0.

Sanger West, debuting in The Bee’s rankings at No. 25, leads the North Yosemite League at 5-0.

Also new in the rankings are No. 17 Kingsburg and No. 24 Orange Cove.

In baseball, Bee No. 4 Buchanan will play a three-game series against No. 21 Central. Buchanan and Clovis are tied for second in the TRAC at 4-2, one game behind Clovis West.

No. 16 Clovis West will open a three-game series against Clovis East. In other TRAC action, No. 3 Clovis will face Clovis North.

The Bee’s top-ranked Bullard will play two games this week against Garza.

No. 15 Fresno is 6-0 in the North Yosemite League and will play Sanger West this week.
