Hijack Becomes Second Apple TV+ Series to Land on Nielsen Streaming Top 10 Chart

Nielsen’s latest U.S. ranking of streaming originals welcomed two newcomers to the mix: Hijack, which becomes only the second Apple TV+ series (besides Ted Lasso) to hit the chart, and Peacock’s Twisted Metal video game adaptation.

With the release of Season 2B, Netflix’s newly renewed The Lincoln Lawyer returned to the No. 1 spot for the week of July 31, amassing 1.7 billion minutes viewed across 20 total episodes. Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias in turn dipped to No. 2, with 740 million minutes viewed/30 episodes, followed by Netflix’s The Witcher (703 million minutes/24 episodes), Prime Video’s Good Omens (436 million minutes/12 episodes) and Hulu’s Futurama (401 million minutes/137 episodes).

Rounding out the Top 10 for the week of July 31 were Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty (399 million minutes viewed/13 episodes), Paramount+’s Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (362 million minutes/19 available episodes), the aforementioned and not-yet-renewed Hijack (357 million minutes/all seven episodes), Prime Video’s Jack Ryan (346 million minutes/30 episodes), and Twisted Metal (326 million minutes/10 episodes).

And yes, Suits is still utterly dominating Nielsen’s overall chart (which includes acquired series, movies and what not), dipping 10% this week to “just” 3.2 billion minutes viewed across Netflix and Peacock.
