An Atlanta animal shelter decided to pay homage to low-budget car ads and cheesy infomercials in its new advertisement — and it’s paying off in a big way.

The Kitty Kommercial video posted by Furkids Animal Rescue and Shelters has it all: black and white over-dramatizations, an inflatable tube man impersonation, and even an overly excited salesman in a bad suit.

The salesman emphasizes all the benefits and bonuses the shelter’s cats can offer potential owners.

“Don’t like tails? No problem! Get a cat without one,” he says, as he hoists up a stubby-tailed kitty.

When the video shows a cat licking itself, the salesman claims all the cats at the shelter are ‘self-cleaning.’

“2016 cats are compatible with windows,” he adds, tapping on a glass window that has three kittens peeking out from behind.

The so-bad-they’re-good jokes continue throughout the entire three-minute video. The salesman even goes on to hawk the shelter’s apparel and swag.

The ad ends with a montage of the shelter’s cats, and someone badly singing Sarah McLachlan’s ‘Angel’ — a song synonymous with another animal shelter’s video.

The video proves you don’t need high production value to get people to watch (although cute kittens probably help). So far it’s been viewed more than 1.3 million times.
