Hit-and-run suspect with terrible parking skills apprehended by Vancouver police

Footage of a teenage driver, who really needs to practice his parking skills, has aided Vancouver police in connecting the dots of a suspected hit-and-run case.

A video posted to YouTube titled “How to park your Porsche In Vancouver” shows a driver of an SUV doing an awful job of fitting their vehicle inside a narrow garage. An onlooker captures the excruciating process as the driver of the luxury vehicle tries and fails to drive into the spot at an angle.

Besides filming the SUV scraping along the garage’s entrance, the viral footage also appears to show the front passenger tire to be already heavily damaged as well.

As the Vancouver Sun reports, this footage was the lead police needed to help identify the primary suspect and vehicle of a hit-and-run investigation from June 16th.

The 16-year-old suspect, who was apparently driving without a licence, is thought to have fled the scene in a panic after striking a parked car.

Const. Brian Montague of the Vancouver Police Department told the Vancouver Sun that the teenager will receive a $276 ticket for driving without a licence and faces a number of other charges for fleeing the scene of the accident.

“He also completely ruined that garage and did additional damage to the vehicle. Whether insurance will cover any of that is highly doubtful,“ he said.
