Joel tries to make amends with Marie. After a heartfelt conversation over a nail appointment, the mother and son agree to move forward and try to rebuild their relationship.
Wanting to help his mum find his younger brother Arlo, Joel suggests that she moves in with him and Leela.
Meanwhile, Lizzie tells Kitty she's always welcome at the Love Boat for a chat. Things are awkward between Kitty and Beau. Hunter tells Beau he needs to apologise to Kitty in person, not over message. In The Dog, still hurt and feeling rejected, Kitty tells Beau it's over between them.
Elsewhere, a preoccupied Carter shouts at John Paul, who asks for his job back and tells Carter that him and Maxine are better without him.
Leah and Lucas return to school. Dillon shows Lucas his concern over his recent wellbeing but is pushed away. Dillon tries to reach out to Lucas but remembering his sessions, Lucas stands firm over cutting him off.
Carter proposes to Maxine at the market. Realising he's lost, she tells him he doesn't know who he is and she can't help him.
