Home and Away exit for Ava after her big lie

Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Home and Away teen Ava Gilbert waves goodbye to Summer Bay on UK screens next week after realising that her father Justin Morgan needs some space.

Justin vows to focus on his upcoming legal fight after receiving the worrying news that he could be facing a prison sentence.

This week's episodes on Channel 5 see Justin go on the attack after Ava lies that she's being held captive by a stranger.

Ava comes up with the bogus story to win sympathy and attention from Theo Poulos. However, it's Justin who comes to her "rescue" and he beats up the man who Ava has falsely accused.

In the fallout next week, Justin informs Ava that his lawyer has predicted he'll get a jail sentence as punishment for the vicious attack. Ava feels terrible, blaming herself for everything that happened.

Justin decides that he doesn't want Ava to witness the heartbreak of his potential conviction, so he asks her to move back to her mother's house.

Ava gets upset that her dad wants to send her away, so she refuses to leave. She points out that she lost Justin once when he went into witness protection years ago, so she doesn't want to be cut off from him again.

As Ava reflects on her recent bad behaviour, she admits that all she has ever wanted is a close bond with her father.

It's Justin's partner Leah Patterson who ultimately gets through to Ava, making her see that her dad needs to focus on his legal fight rather than her issues.

Leah adds that, if Ava is present in the courtroom, Justin will be distracted by trying to protect her.

Finally taking a mature stance, Ava agrees to move back to her mother's house and shares a heartfelt goodbye with her loved ones.

It's a difficult moment for Justin, who acknowledges that this could be his last time seeing his daughter before he goes to prison.
