Home invasion suspect's bail hearing concludes

A Corner Brook court will soon determine how much longer Massey Drive resident Andre Lecuyer, one of two suspects in a home invasion, will remain in custody.

Lecuyer is charged with forcible confinement, armed robbery and break and enter over a January 2014 home invasion at the home of Tim Mitchell.

Lecuyer has appeared in court several times since January for breaching court orders by failing to sign in at the police station on 12 occasions.

A lengthy bail hearing has wrapped up. The judge is expected to deliver a bail decision on Monday.

Lecuyer and another man, Kirby Spence, are accused of breaking into Mitchell's home and robbing him.

Court documents allege that the pair used bear spray and a machete to subdue Mitchell.
