Homicide in Ahuntsic linked to Mafia

Today investigators carried out search warrants related in Montreal, Quebec City, the Beauce region, and the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region.

Police are investigating the 33rd homicide of the year in Montreal after a body was discovered in a parked car Saturday morning.

At about 9:30 a.m., police on a routine patrol discovered a vehicle of interest parked at the corner of Sauriol Street and Larose Avenue, in a residential area of Montreal North.

During their investigation of the car, which police say was related to a recent event, officers spotted a body inside.

Once they unlocked the doors of the car, police discovered the victim — a man in his fifties — and pronounced him dead at the scene.

The major crimes unit is on the scene and investigators are meeting with neighbours and witnesses.

Police have no supsects at this time.
