The hype for Honkai: Star Rail is out of this world!

Genshin Impact devs HoYoverse's upcoming space fantasy RPG has reached over 10 million pre-registrations on Saturday (15 April) ahead of its highly-anticipated launch on 26 April.

With this latest milestone, Honkai: Star Rail has now doubled the initial pre-registration goal of 5 million set by HoYoverse back in February.

That goal was quickly reached by early March, giving all players who pre-registered tons of rewards, including the 4-star character Serval and 20 Star Rail Passes, 50,000, credits, and the 'Trailblazer — Welcome' Avatar.

The Star Rail Passes are a form of in-game currency players can use to acquire characters and equipment through Honkai: Star Rail's gacha system, called 'Warps', equivalent to 'Wishes' from Genshin Impact.

With pre-registrations surpassing 10 million, HoYoverse has opened raffles across the game's official social media accounts where 20 lucky players can receive gift cards worth around US$100.

It's not too late to board the hype train for Honkai: Star RailI! The game is still accepting pre-registrations here.

What is Honkai: Star Rail?

Honkai: Star Rail is the latest title by Chinese developer HoYoverse, known for releasing the smash-hit fantasy RPG Genshin Impact. Honkai: Star Rail is the latest entry in HoYoverse's Honkai series, being the spiritual successor to Honkai Impact 3rd.

Honkai: Star Rail combines elements of open-world exploration, roguelike dungeon traversal, and turn-based RPG combat into one exciting adventure across a wide universe, complete with a wide variety of worlds to discover and a colourful cast of characters to meet.

While adventuring through Honkai: Star Rail's universe, players will take control of a party of up to four characters as they explore new worlds and encounter dangerous enemies. Each of the game's playable characters will have their own roles and elemental alignments to fulfill the needs of the party in whatever situation they encounter.

Players will step into the shoes of an amnesiac young man or woman, depending on their choice, who is embedded with a mysterious power known as the Stellaron.

Taken in by the crew of the titular Astral Express, a group of trailblazers who seek to travel the universe, you will form bonds with the Astral Express crew, namely March 7th, a similarly amnesiac young woman who was found frozen in ice, Dan Heng, a mysterious man known as “Cold Dragon Young”, Welt Yang, senior member and “former animator”, Himeko, the navigator, and finally, Pompom, who is the conductor and mascot of the Astral Express.

With this newfound family, players will explore different worlds like the icy planet Belobog, or the Sci-Fi paradise Xinzhou Luofu, in pursuit of Stellarons, or the “Cancer of All Worlds”, while currying favour with the Aeons, who hold dominion over The Paths.

Players will also fight against the “Stellaron Hunters”, a group of mercenaries who have questionable goals that might not match their own.

As Trailblazers, it is the player's duty to collect the Stellarons, which inflict disasters on the worlds they visit, and along the way, aid the people we meet into a brighter future.

Honkai: Star Rail will be available on Android, iOS, and PC when it launches on 26 April, with pre-installation becoming available on 23 April. For everything you need to know about Honkai: Star Rail, check here.
