In November 2023, the defensive revealed he was taking time away from the team due to “dealing with a personal health matter,” per NBC Sports, while refraining from sharing details on his illness.
He then thanked his teammates, family “and the entire Houston Texans organization,” for their support and care.
“I will provide updates from time to time,” he added at the time. “But my main focus right now is on my health and recovery. Thank you and God bless.”
Meanwhile, the Houston Texans reported on their website that Horton logged 13 tackles in 10 games last season before he took his break from playing.
