Sask. Mounties on the hunt for police impersonators

RCMP have launched an investigation and an autopsy is scheduled following the discovery of human remains in a farmer's field near Rosthern, Sask., north of Saskatoon.

It was not disclosed when the remains were found. RCMP from the Rosthern detachment reported the case on Friday night and did not release any information about the identity of the person or a cause of death.

They said an autopsy was tentatively set for Monday in Saskatoon.

The location of the discovery, a farm field five kilometres east of Rosthern near Highway 312, is about 68 kilometres north of Saskatoon.

A local resident, who was tending his field, came upon the remains and reported the discovery to police.

The investigation is being done by members of the local RCMP detachment as well as officers form the RCMP's major crimes and forensics sections.
