God's Lake Narrows RCMP and RCMP Major Crime Services and Forensic Identification Services are investigating the death of an 18-year-old woman from Gods River, Man. (CBC - image credit)

The RCMP says human remains were found in a wooded area near St. George's on Tuesday. (CBC)

The RCMP says human remains were found near St. George's, N.L., and the matter is under investigation.

In a news release on Wednesday, the RCMP said the remains were found in a wooded area on Tuesday.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is working to determine the identification.

No other details are available.
