Hundreds of students and teachers gather in Windsor to discuss LGBT issues

Hundreds of students and teachers gathered in Windsor this weekend to participate in an event on LGBT issues.

The OUTShine summit was a chance for teens and educators to come together to share experiences and resources.

"Being in such an accepting place, you learn how to be so comfortable with yourself that it makes you realize, 'Wow. I can't believe I didn't feel like this before,'" explained Sam Cassidy, a student at L'Essor High School. "So even just seeing other people and their confidence and their pride, it was just so heartwarming, that it really makes you feel that way too."

More than 300 people from all over the world registered for the event.

Next year, OUTShine will be held in New Brunswick.
