IL man faces 48 charges, including domestic violence and sex-related offenses, police say

A Pike County man has been arrested on 48 charges for domestic violence and sex-related offenses, the Illinois State Police announced this week.

Austin L. Rodhouse, 30, of Pleasant Hill was initially arrested on May 8 after state police were notified that a domestic violence and criminal sexual abuse victim was at a local hospital, a state police release states. Pleasant Hill is a village in Pike County, about 50 miles northwest of Jerseyville in Jersey County.“

As a result of the initial investigation, Rodhouse was arrested for Aggravated Domestic Battery and transported to the Pike County Jail,” the release states. “ After Rodhouse’s arrest on May 8, 2024, ISP conducted a follow-up investigation which led to numerous additional charges.”

He faces a total of 48 charges filed by the Pike County State’s Attorney’s Office, including these, state police said:

• 5 Counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault (Class X Felony)

• 2 Counts of Criminal Sexual Assault involving force (Class 1 Felony)

• 4 Counts of Criminal Sexual Abuse involving force (Class 4 Felony)

• 4 Counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault (Class X Felony)

• 3 Counts of Child Pornography (Class X Felony)

• 3 Counts of Involuntary Sexual Servitude of a Minor (Class X Felony)

• 4 Counts of Indecent Solicitation of an Adult (Class 2 Felony)

• 2 Counts of Aggravated Battery to a Child (Class 3 Felony)

“Additional victims have been identified in the investigation and further criminal charges are pending by the Pike County State’s Attorney’s Office,” the release states.
