Jackass! Star Steve-O Arrested For Climbing 100-Ft Crane In SeaWorld Protest

He may be a Jackass - but reality TV star Steve-O has been arrested for making a serious stand against SeaWorld.

The 41-year-old - famed for his role in the self-injuring MTV stunt show - clambered up a 100-feet crane in Hollywood, California, on Sunday.

After reaching the top, he then allegedly inflated a killer whale balloon with “SeaWorld Sucks” written on it.

Stephen Glover, as he’s fully named, filmed the entire incident - and live reported on what he was doing via his Facebook page.

The TV personality later inched his way back down the crane, and was met by emergency crews - who said they’d been unsure as to whether he needed rescuing.

Firefighters set out a gigantic cushion on the ground in case he fell.

He was detained on reaching safe ground. It’s unclear whether he will face charges.

The daredevil revealed plans for his stunt when he posted a picture of the inflatable - who he called “Shammy” - online on Saturday.

"This is Shammy. We’re going to do a big dangerous stunt in Los Angeles tomorrow that will probably get me in a lot of trouble,” he wrote on Facebook.

“And you can watch it happen via a live stream, right here on Facebook, starting at exactly 7pm PST. See you then… #yeahdude,” he added.

SeaWorld - which has parks in Orlando, San Antonio and San Diego - has faced increased criticism since the release of the documentary Blackfish.

The film focuses on the organisation’s alleged poor treatment of killer whales.
