Jeannie Mai is claiming that her estranged husband Jeezy left out one of his assault rifles at home which their toddler daughter then stumbled upon.

In a new motion filed by Mai and obtained by PEOPLE, Mai, 45, claims that her 2-year-old daughter Monaco found one of Jeezy's guns in their marital house after it had been left out unsecured. "At 10:22 pm on April 1, 2024, counsel for [Jeezy] sent a text to counsel for [Mai] containing three photographs," the documents read.

"The photographs show a safe and four guns, but notably, [Jeezy's] AK-47 assault rifle, which had previously been left unsecured by [Jeezy] and found by the parties' two-year-old daughter beside a bed in the marital residence was missing from the photographs."

In a statement shared with PEOPLE, Jeezy, 46, denies Mai's allegations.

"The allegations are not only false, but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved. This malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous," he said.

"It's disheartening to witness the manipulation and deceit at play and at this time my main concern is being an active father to our daughter as I continue to fight for court mandated joint custody. Rest assured, the truth will prevail through the proper legal channels.”

The rapper filed for divorce from the former The Real host in September after two-and-a-half years of marriage. According to the filing, obtained by PEOPLE, Jeezy said the former couple are "currently living in a bona fide state of separation," and that their marriage is "irretrievably broken" with "no hope for reconciliation."

Earlier this month, Jeezy filed for primary custody of Monaco in a request that superseded the current custody and parenting schedule he and Mai worked out in mediation.

The rapper claimed that he initially agreed to move to the basement of their shared home amid their separation, but said that Mai has since moved out of their house, taking Monaco with her. In the documents, Jeezy claimed he "does not know where the minor child actually lives, or what or who is caring for the minor child while" Mai "is working."

He also claimed that Mai enlisted her mother and brother to care for their daughter for the majority of the time, alleging that her travel schedule isn't good for the toddler. He added that Mai withheld his time with Monaco for nearly two months.

He later revised his claim, asking for joint physical and legal custody of Monaco. Jeezy is now seeking to "share joint legal custody and joint physical custody of the minor child and that the specific parenting time schedule be determined by the Court consistent with the best interest of the minor child."
