Joey King Debuts Blonde Hair in Paris After Tricking the Internet with Her Dramatic Bob Hairstyle

King and her hairstylist, Dimitris Giannetos, convinced everyone in Cannes that the actress had chopped off her hair

Joey King has a fresh new look — again!

The actress stepped out for not one, but two red carpets on June 23 in Paris, and while both of her looks were striking (a metallic pink minidress and a white minidress with pom-poms), all eyes were on her new hair.

At both the red carpet for the Paris premiere of Despicable Me 4 and later at Vogue World: Paris, King, 24, showed off a freshly bleached hairstyle and shorter length — just in time for the warm summer months.

King's hairstylist, Dimitris Giannettos, shared the actress' new look on Instagram earlier in the day, calling it "the playboy blonde."

"New color/cut for my sister @joeyking today in Paris," he added, sharing that he used Moroccanoil products to achieve the sunny shade of blonde on King's locks.

King and Giannetos tricked everyone in May when the actress hit the red carpet in Cannes with a "Prada bob" — aka a micro bob hairstyle that everyone assumed was a real haircut. It was quite the convincing hairstyle, and King pulled it off effortlessly.

She rocked the hairstyle with a butter yellow Miu Miu dress for the final night of the film festival on May 25, and everyone fawned over how fantastic she looked.

But the cut wasn't real — it was an expertly placed wig that Giannetos cut into a chic bob.

"We used a high-quality, waist-length wig for the transformation," the hair pro told PEOPLE of the transformation. "By cutting and styling the wig into a sleek bob, we achieved the dramatic change without any permanent commitment. It's all about versatility and playing with different looks."
