John Stamos Celebrates 'Brother' Dave Coulier with Memory-Filled 64th Birthday Tribute: 'Love You Always'
Stamos and Coulier starred alongside one another on the hit sitcom 'Full House'
It has been almost 30 years since Full House aired its final episode, but costars John Stamos and Dave Coulier are still as close as can be.
On Sept. 21, 2023, Stamos took to Instagram to wish Coulier a happy 64th birthday with a video tribute, including a treasure trove of photos spanning their decades-long friendship.
Narrated by Stamos and with “You’re My Best Friend” by Queen playing in the background, the montage video begins with a grainy clip of the original cast of Full House. Dubbed over it, the star says, “[Jeff] Franklin sets up a chemistry lunch with me and Dave Coulier, an up-and-coming comedian who was up for the role of Joey Gladstone. Dave waxes on a bit too seriously about comedy and specifically his comedy and how it sets him apart from other comedians.”

The tribute continues with clips of Coulier in 1989 before fast-forwarding to more recent footage of the pair. Stamos quips, “As soon as I get home, I call Jeff: ‘You're kidding me, right? That guy is what we call NF, not funny.’ ”
Afterward, Stamos includes a clip of Coulier performing a stand-up comedy routine. He notes, “The next night Jeff drags me out to Igby’s Comedy Cabaret. Dave walks on stage and blows my mind for the next hour and a half, it’s a brilliant performance. He has this Robin Williams sense of rapid-fire impressions."

This is followed by footage of Coulier appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show, as well as alongside Stamos on Full House. The actor concludes the narration by saying, “I go backstage: ‘And why couldn’t you have done that at lunch and saved me a 45-minute car ride?’ He laughs, I hug him and tell him how talented he is. I can’t wait to work with him.”
