After Justyn Ross’ TD grab, Chiefs GM Brett Veach shares his expectations for receiver

The Chiefs got off to a slow start in their preseason game against the Cleveland Browns at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, falling behind by 19 points in the first quarter.

But, as the Chiefs have done often over the last few years, they rallied and scored two second-quarter touchdowns to get back in the game.

The first ended with wide receiver Justyn Ross, who is 6-4, going up to make a nice grab for a 3-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Shane Buechele.

The voice you heard in the video was that of Chiefs general manager Brett Veach. TV analyst/former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green asked Veach about Ross and the injuries he’s overcome at Clemson and with the Chiefs.

Veach shared his outlook for Ross this season.

“It’s been great and obviously everyone knows the fast start he had in college and then he got sidetracked by some injuries,” Veach said. “Last year our training staff did a great job with him of bringing him back and giving him the time needed.

“And I think halfway through the OTAs, I really think you started to see it click and he started to get that confidence, that self-belief back and it’s continued on through training camps, and we’re certainly expecting big things from Justyn this year.”

So are Chiefs fans.
