About Oral Roberts (2-3):

Oral Roberts is off to a 2-3 start this season with its most notable victory coming against Texas Southern. The team is expected to take a step back this year as it transitions to new coach Russell Springmann, but the Golden Eagles could still be one of the best teams in the Summit League. Isaac McBride leads the team with 21.6 points.

About Kansas State (4-2):

The Wildcats are coming off a 100-56 win over Central Arkansas. They hope to build off that momentum against another team from a mid-major conference at home. K-State is a perfect 3-0 at home this season. Tylor Perry and Cam Carter have led the way in scoring, as both have been effective scorers from the perimeter. Arthur Kaluma has been coming on in recent games and is now averaging 14.8 points per game. K-State is expected to be without Nae’Qwan Tomlin once again on Tuesday. Head coach Jerome Tang says “nothing has changed” with his suspension. It remains unclear when he will return to the court. Injured guard Ques Glover will also remain sidelined as he targets a return in late December.

Prediction:

It’s too bad Oral Roberts lost its best player (Max Abmas) to Texas and its head coach (Paul Mills) to Wichita State after the Golden Eagles won 30 games and reached the NCAA Tournament last season.

That team would have given K-State an exciting opponent to play. Unfortunately, this squad isn’t nearly as good.

The Golden Eagles rank outside the top 190 nationally in both offensive efficiency and defensive efficiency. They don’t shoot well from three-point range (31.5%) or two-point range (46.2%). They also struggle to grab offensive rebounds. But they do take care of the basketball and only turn it over on 11.3% of their possessions.

It probably comes down to how well top scorers Tylor Perry and Cam Carter shoot the ball from the outside. Here’s guessing they make a few shots from the perimeter and the Wildcats win by a healthy margin with a home crowd cheering them on.
