Kaetlyn Osmond talks recovery after figure-skating injury

Two-time national champion and Olympic silver medalist Kaetlyn Osmond is back on the ice after breaking her leg in September.

After sitting out nearly half of the season while she recovered from surgery, Osmond is now working hard to make up for lost time – the longest she has ever been off the rink since she was two years old.

She was back in the gym within two weeks of her September 11 fall, and strapped on her figure skates for the first time in early November, sticking to private rinks while she regained her feet and her confidence.

The skating star is now edging back into the spotlight.

Earlier this week, Osmond hit the ice at Edmonton's Terwillegar Recreation Centre, where she spoke to CBC's Marion Warnica about her terrible tumble and months-long recovery.

She's hoping to be back in competition form in time to compete in the Canadian National Championship in January.
