Kate Bosworth shares Justin Long's sweet proposal: 'I really want to spend my life with you'
Cue the wedding bells! Justin Long and Kate Bosworth are engaged.
Long, 44, and Bosworth, 40, confirmed their pending nuptials in an April episode of Long's podcast "Life is Short with Justin Long."
"Our guest today is the love of my life," Long said, before Bosworth joined the episode. Later, the actors announced they are planning to tie the knot and shared how the proposal went down.
While Bosworth isn't a "spectacle person," Long said he planned to pop the question close to the "Blue Crush" star's birthday, but because of life events, things changed. Instead, the "He's Just Not That Into You" actor took the next step during an intimate moment at home.

The time came after a therapy session the couple had during a difficult period, the couple shared. Their therapist had reminded Long and Bosworth to consistently ask each other what they may need from the other.
"I remember waking up not so many mornings after that therapy session and I looked at Justin and .... I remember, I smiled at you, and I said, 'What do you need?' And he really looked at me and he said, 'To spend my life with you.' And I smiled and I said, 'Well, yeah, you have that. Oh my gosh, you have that.' And he said, 'No, I mean I really want to spend my life with you.' "
The words then came to him naturally, he said.
Last month, rumors swirled that the couple was engaged after Bosworth donned a ring on that finger at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. But the two had yet to confirm the news publicly. They said they chose to do it on Long's podcast so they could discuss the moment together.
"We’re both deciding to share this in this space because we’re probably gonna be asked about it and we thought, 'Well, how can we talk about this in a way that makes us feel the best?' And we thought, 'Oh, I’d really like to just talk about it with you,' " Bosworth said.
Long and Bosworth met working on "House of Darkness" together in Arkansas and became close before entering into a relationship. According to Us Weekly, the duo was first connected after Bosworth announced her split from former spouse Michael Polish in August 2021.
Bosworth and Polish broke things off in 2021 after eight years of marriage.
