Kate Winslet Wishes She Had Intimacy Coordinators Earlier in Career: 'I Always Had to Stand Up for Myself'
"It would have been nice to have had someone in my corner," said the actress
Kate Winslet is all for having intimacy coordinators involved on film sets.
The Oscar winner, 48, told The New York Times she feels the crew members — who coordinate sex scenes and make sure all parties are comfortable at work — would have come in handy earlier in her career.
"I would have benefited from an intimacy coordinator every single time I had to do a love scene or be partially naked or even a kissing scene,” said The Regime star.
Winslet added, "It would have been nice to have had someone in my corner, because I always had to stand up for myself."

The actress also told the Times some of the things she wishes she could have spoken up about in those moments.
"'I don’t like that camera angle. I don’t want to stand here full-frontal nude. I don’t want this many people in the room. I want my dressing gown to be closer,' " Winslet said. "Just little things like that."
"When you’re young, you’re so afraid of pissing people off or coming across as rude or pathetic because you might need those things," she added. "So learning to have a voice for oneself in those environments was very, very hard."

Last month, Winslet opened up to PORTER about struggling with fame after the success of 1997's Titanic.
"I felt like I had to look a certain way or be a certain thing, and because media intrusion was so significant at that time, my life was quite unpleasant," she said.
"Journalists would always say, ‘After Titanic, you could have done anything and yet you chose to do these small things’ … and I was like, ‘Yeah, you bet your life I did! Because, guess what, being famous was horrible,' " added Winslet.
