Kathie Lee Gifford Reacts to The Bachelor’s Joey Graziadei Not Knowing Who She Is
Joey Graziadei’s failure to recognize Kathie Lee Gifford earlier this month was met with shock and awe… from everyone except Gifford, it seems.
During a recent appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark, Graziadei — who’s currently leading Season 28 of The Bachelor — responded to speculation that Gifford will be the first-ever Golden Bachelorette by admitting, “I will be honest. I have no idea who Kathie Lee Gifford is.”

His confession was met with gasps and boos from the studio audience (“I’m only 28! I’m sorry!” Graziadei offered), while co-host Mark Consuelos helpfully explained, “She used to sit right here,” pointing to his and Kelly Ripa’s seats. (Gifford, of course, co-hosted Live! With Regis and Kathie Lee alongside Regis Philbin from 1988 to 2000.)
But Gifford appears to have cut Graziadei significantly more slack than Live‘s audience did, writing in an X post on Wednesday, “I don’t expect him to know me. I’ve got shoes that are older than this kid is!”
Graziadei’s naivety has made headlines several times during his Bachelor press tour. In addition to his Gifford gaffe, Graziadei memorably mixed up convicted murderer Gypsy Rose Blanchard with late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and was lightly roasted on social media for saying the ancient island of Malta has an “old school vibe to it” during a recent Bachelor outing.
New episodes of The Bachelor air Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
