Kentucky’s own Tyler Childers announces sold-out tour is coming to Rupp. How to get tickets

Want to spend New Year’s Eve with a country superstar?

Kentucky’s own Tyler Childers announced Wednesday he will perform two music concerts at Lexington’s Rupp Arena on Dec. 30 and Dec. 31. Both will feature special musical guest Shovels & Rope.

Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster with advance registration, according to Live Nation.

Registration for pre-sale tickets is open now through 11:59 p.m. ET July 30 at verifiedfan.ticketmaster.com/tylerchildersnye. After registration, randomly selected fans will receive an access code to participate in pre-sale starting Aug. 2 at 10 a.m. ET.

General on-sale ticketing will begin 10 a.m. Aug. 3.

According to Rupp, VIP tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. ET Aug. 1 starting at $250 for all-inclusive packages with parking, food and access to a private bar.

Childers’ 30-date tour begins Aug. 2 at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

He will bring his band, The Food Stamps, featuring James Barker (pedal steel), Craig Burletic (bass), CJ Cain (guitar), Rodney Elkins (drums), Chase Lewis (keyboards) and Jesse Wells (guitar, fiddle) to Lexington after sold-out shows across the country.

Last year Childers released a triple album, “Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven?” which featured eight songs in three different sounds. Like his previous two albums, it achieved critical acclaim and commercial success, earning two Grammy nominations.

Earlier this year he headlined the Railbird music festival at the Red Mile in Lexington.

Childers also performed with Chris Stapleton, Dwight Yoakam and others in Rupp Arena in 2022 for an Eastern Kentucky flood benefit concert.
