Updated: Possible ‘armed and dangerous’ murder suspect located by Kentucky State Police
Kentucky State Police have located a possible murder suspect who was considered armed and dangerous, the agency announced Monday.
KSP was notified Monday morning by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office about a homicide that happened at a home on Indian Ridge Road in Falls of Rough. KSP said George Greer, 49, assaulted three people who shared a residence with him.
One of the victims, 59-year-old Teresa Boles, was declared dead on scene by the Grayson County Coroner’s Office, according to KSP. Two other people suffered injuries and had to be hospitalized. One of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries and had to be flown to University of Louisville Hospital, KSP said.
Greer used a samurai sword during the attack, according to court documents.
Greer fled the scene before officers arrived in a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country minivan belonging to Boles, according to KSP. The minivan was later found abandoned on Hollow Church Road near Short Creek by the KSP Aircraft Support Branch.
Greer was found some time later in a stolen Chevrolet Impala near the end of Edwards Cemetery Road, according to KSP. Shortly after 2:30 p.m. KSP trooper Scotty Sharp said Greer had been taken into custody without incident by state police troopers.
After being apprehended, Greer admitted to being under the influence of drugs during the incident, according to court documents.
Greer was charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, auto theft, first-degree burglary and first-degree fleeing or evading police, KSP said. Greer is being lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center on a $500,000 bond, according to court documents.
