Before you even think about commenting on the makeup Khloé Kardashian's six-year-old daughter, True Thompson, is wearing in her June 23 Instagram post, Khlo wants you to know that the makeup is only for her dance recital.

Kardashian shared a photo gallery of her daughter, along with her cousins Chicago West and Dream Kardashian, from their dance performance, as any proud mom would. True wears a pink ballet tutu in some photos, while in others she wears a red-and-white striped baseball player costume, and has what appears to be a full face of makeup. But Kardashian staved off any would-be mom-shamers right in the caption, explaining that True’s beat was for performance purposes only. It’s not like the little girl is walking in to first grade in full glam.

“Obviously none of our girls wear makeup like this regularly. This was for the recital only. They are beautiful just as they are,” Kardashian wrote in the caption. Just so we’re all super duper clear, it is standard practice for kids to wear stage makeup for dance recitals.

Every mom on the internet has been subjected to some kind of shaming, and the Kardashians are scrutinized more than most. Khloé Kardashian alone has been shamed for, among other things, hiring a nanny, “excessive spending,” and having long nails (you read that right). It's no wonder she’s trying to cut the trolls off at the pass.

The rest of Kardashian’s caption was devoted to expressing her motherly pride for her daughter after three years of dance. “My girls had their dance recital yesterday! Year 3 done 🤸🏼‍♀️🤸🏼‍♀️ I can’t believe they already have done three years of dance. Life is moving quickly. They did two dances this year- Ballet and hiphop. I am so so proud of them! They were absolutely perfect,” she wrote.
