Kickoff time for TCU’s season opener vs. Deion Sanders, Colorado set

The kickoff time for TCU’s highly anticipated season opener vs. Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders and Colorado has finally been set.

FOX Sports announced on Monday that the Horned Frogs and Buffaloes would kick off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2 at Amon G. Carter Stadium. TCU defeated Colorado 38-13 in last year’s season opener in Boulder, but both teams will look very different come September.

TCU tied a program record with eight draft picks in the 2023 NFL Draft after last year’s run to the national championship game and Sonny Dykes will need a new group of players like quarterback Chandler Morris to rise to the occasion.

At Colorado, Sanders is testing how quickly you can turn around a program as the Buffaloes have seen unprecedented roster turnover after a 1-11 season.

The Buffaloes are bringing in more than 45 players from the transfer portal led by former No. 1 overall recruit Travis Hunter.

A Hall of Famer and Super Bowl champion with the Dallas Cowboys, Sanders was also a candidate for TCU after the Horned Frogs parted ways with Gary Patterson. Now Dykes and Sanders will meet on the field for one of the most highly anticipated games of the season.
