Kim Kardashian 'Slams' Jimmy Kimmel's '90s Wear in Spoof of Her Heated Call with Sister Kourtney

Jimmy Kimmel is gearing up for his return to late night on Monday — and how better with a Kardashians spoof?

In a promo clip posted on Instagram Saturday, the 55-year-old emcee recreated the dramatic phone call that took place between Kim Kardashian and her sister Kourtney during Thursday's season 4 premiere of the famous family's Hulu show.

Kimmel inserted cuts of himself in Kourtney's place as he "called" Kim, 42, and let her know that his show is “back on the air on Monday.” Suffice it to say, in this version of the reality clip, the SKIMS founder was less than enthused to hear the news.

“What do you mean?” Kim asked. In the original scene, she and Kourtney, 44, were talking about her partnership with Dolce & Gabbana, which upset Kourtney because it came just six months after the fashion house designed her wedding dress. The sisters talked about the tension in a heated phone call that left both of them frustrated and emotional.

“I mean the writer’s strike is over and the show’s gonna be back,” Kimmel replied, to which Kim asked, “Are you happy?”

“Yeah I’m happy. I’m very happy. Are you happy for me?” he said, before telling Kim, “You just don’t seem that happy for me.”

The Kardashians star then insulted Kimmel’s look as she said, “No that’s where I think that you’re wrong. If anything, I was like, I don’t like — and I told Khloé, I’m like, ‘I don’t like your look, I don’t like this, I don’t like—.’”

In her conversation with Kourtney, Kim had been referring to some of her sister’s looks at her May 2022 wedding to Travis Barker, which she didn’t particularly like.

“You don’t like my look? What’s wrong with my look?” Kimmel asked, looking down at his casual outfit: oversized jeans and a hoodie.

Kim replied, “It’s not that original. Everyone does ‘90s,” which made the late night host gasp in mock-horror at the insult.

When she said that to Kourtney, the Poosh founder unleashed, telling her sister, "You’re talking about the bulls--- details cause it's all your egotistical, selfish mind can think about. You cannot stand someone else being the center of attention. You came to my wedding, you couldn’t be happy, you complained from the second you got there till the second you left… you couldn’t be happy for me, you couldn’t be happy that I was the center of attention.”

Kimmel even included Kim’s now-viral comment about there being a dedicated “Not Kourtney” group chat as a result of the oldest Kardashian-Jenner sister's behavior. “We have side chats about everybody,” Kim said in the episode and in the late-night host’s spoof.

As the call ended, Kimmel jokingly called Kim a “witch” as he shook off her negativity in response to the news of his show’s return.

Kimmel’s beloved sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez had his back, though: “I don’t know, Jimmy. I think she’s just jealous because you look so good in these jeans.”

The two basked in their own excitement about the return of late night, which comes less than a week after the Writers Guild of America (WGA) voted to end the writers’ strike as of 12:01 a.m. PT on Sept. 28.

In a joint statement, four members of the Strike Force Five podcast — Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert — announced their return to their network television shows beginning Monday.

The podcast’s fifth co-host John Oliver returned to Last Week Tonight on Sunday.

The return to late night TV comes nearly five months after the five hosts halted production on May 2 due to the WGA strike.

In light of their newfound free time, they banded together and launched the Strike Force Five limited-series podcast in August to raise funds for their out-of-work staffers.

Though they’re switching gears to refocus on their shows, they said in a statement that they “still have a few more episodes.”

They wrote on Instagram, “This is the Strike Force 5 signing off and the Late Night 5 signing back on…”
