What to know for the Ford Fireworks display

Windsor Police want you to know a couple things before heading to the Ford Fireworks display tonight.

The show will start at 9:55 pm and will last 25 minutes.

Police say road closures and parking restrictions are designed to allow the best possible flow of traffic and those who don't obey posted signs will be fined.

All the roads north of Wyandotte Street between the Ambassador Bridge and Devonshire Road will be closed starting at 6:00 p.m.

The following Windsor roadways will be designated as a 'no stopping zone' from noon until 2:00 a.m. Tuesday:

- Glengarry Street and Aylmer Street from Wyandotte Street to Riverside Drive

- McDougall Avenue from Tuscarora Street to Giles Blvd

- Victoria Avenue from Wyandotte Street to Erie Street

There will be no alcohol permitted within the road closure area.

Bicycle and E-bike riders are asked to try and avoid riding in high density areas of pedestrians. Free bike parking is available at Charles Clark Square from 7:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. courtesy of the Windsor Bicycling Committee.

People hoping to enjoy the Ford Fireworks on the Windsor riverfront will be able to take free, public transportation downtown.

Buses will run from Devonshire mall to the downtown area from 6:00- 9:30 p.m. and will be offered until after midnight to ensure everyone can get home.

Windsor Police "would like to remind everyone to plan ahead and exercise patience in order for all to safely enjoy the show."
