Chingari App, India's TikTok Alternative, Wins AatmaNirbhar App Challenge in Social Category
New Delhi, August 7: Chingari app has been announced as one of the winners of the government's Digital India AatmaNirbhar App Challenge on Friday. Chingari app is touted as India's alternative to now-banned Chinese app TikTok. The "Made in India" application has won the challenge in the social networking category. The AatmaNirbhar App Challenge has received more than 6,900 entries from all over the country. The Aatmanirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Chingari is custom-designed audio and video-based free social platform. According to its developers, Chingari app allows a user to download and upload videos, chat with friends, interact with new people, share content, and browse through feed. The application also pays video creators if their clips go viral. The app is available in multiple languages including English, Hindi, Bangla, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu.

While Chingari bagged the first position, YourQuote, a writing app, ranked second in the Digital India AatmaNirbhar App Challenge. Koo app, which is similar to Twitter for non-English users, clinched the third spot in the competition. Hidoc Dr, medical learning app for doctors, and Mitron applications found special mentions.
