As Mauricio Umansky made his Dancing with the Stars debut on Tuesday, his wife Kyle Richards was there to show their support despite their recent separation.

Before hitting the dance floor with his partner Emma Slater, Umanksy addressed the recent hardships the pair have faced in his opening package.

"I am married to Kyle Richards," he began. "We've been going through a rough year, and I’m really hopeful that Dancing with the Stars is going to get my mind off of it and have some fun."

Umansky, 53, and Slater, 34, then performed a jive to "I Ain't Worried" by OneRepublic. After the dance number concluded, the cameras panned over to show Richards, 54, and their daughter Alexia reacting with joy while seated in the audience.

"Oh, I think they love it. Did you guys like it down there?" he said, as applause sounded.

"The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously," they continued. "There has been no wrongdoing on anyone's part. Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately.
