Laci Mosley’s ‘Scam Goddess’ Podcast Set for TV Adaptation at ABC News

Laci Mosley’s popular podcast “Scam Goddess” is set for a TV adaptation at ABC News Studios with Mosley as host. The series is currently in production, Variety has confirmed.

Per its official description, the podcast “keeps listeners up to date on current rackets, digs deep into the latest scams and breaks down historic hoodwinks” while featuring different comedians as guests each week. Mosley launched the in 2019 via Earwolf, and will celebrate its fifth anniversary with a live show at Los Angeles’ Regent Theater in September, which will also mark the release of Mosley’s book, “Scam Goddess: Lessons from a Life of Cons, Grifts, and Schemes.” Published by Running Press, the essay collection will chronicle different frauds while also exploring “how the scammer mindset has affected [Mosley’s] own upbringing, career, friendships, love life and more.”

Along with “Scam Goddess,” Mosley is best known for starring as Harper in Paramount+’s reboot of Nickelodeon’s “iCarly.” She has also appeared in the Netflix film “The Outlaws” and held a recurring role in Season 2 of “Lopez vs. Lopez” on NBC. She is repped by 3 Arts Entertainment, attorney Grace Kallis at Ginsburg Daniels Kallis and Persona PR.

This isn’t the only series based on a scam-centric podcast in the works at ABC. At upfronts in May, the network’s fall schedule included one surprise: a series order for “Scamanda,” a new Wednesday night docuseries based on the podcast of the same name about Amanda Riley, infamous for faking cancer for nearly a decade and raising more than $100,000 in donations in the process.
